Dead Drift Yacht Club

Many of us dream of owning our own drift boat but can't justify the cost of the boat for a few outings a year.  Dead Drift Fly Shop introduces a private club that gives anyone who joins an inexpensive alternative to owning their own boat.  For about 8 dollars a month members of the Dead Drift Yacht Club have unlimited access to the drift boat at Dead Drift Fly Shop.  A one time sign up fee of $50 gets you a membership into this exclusive club.  Once this fee has been paid, $100 per year gives you unlimited use of this Hyde pro series drift boat.  For those who wish to include their minor children and wife in the society, a family membership runs $125 per year.  In addition to having a drift boat at your disposal, membership also includes other exciting opportunities.  All members will recieve 10% off purchases at Dead Drift Fly Shop and will be invited to an annual Dead Drift Yacht Club Fishing weekend giving members a chance to meet and share ideas with like minded individuals.  As the DDYC grows and evolves expect more exciting opportunities that will allow you to make the most out of your fishing hobby.

How Does this Club Work?

Once you have paid your fees and joined the club you are then eligible to reserve a trip in your new drift boat.  Each trip can be reserved for either one or two days of floating.  When your date arrives the boat is yours for that day(s).  You are responsible for shuttling the boat yourself or can be shuttled for the normal $25 shuttling fee.  While the boat will be located on the North Fork of the White you can also take it to fish many of the other rivers located within an hour or two.  The world famous tailwaters of the White and North Fork can easily be accessed with a little more than an hour drive from here.  The Eleven Point river is also just over an hour from the Fly Shop and rivers such as the Current, and Spring River in Arkansas are also possibilities.  Once your trip has ended you are then eligible to make a reservation for another date.  By allowing only one reservation per member at a given time there will always be plenty of dates to choose from.  The club will be limited to less than 25 members per drift boat.  As these numbers are reached prospective members will be put on a waiting list and then allowed to join when a new drift boat is secured.  By keeping the membership between 20-25 members per boat each member will have many opportunies to use the boat.

How to Make the Dead Drift Yacht Club Work for You

If the family membership does not fit your fishing plans then you may wonder how this program can work for you.  Members may choose to sign up with a fishing buddy or two.  With the drift boat accomodating 3 fishermen the 3 man fishing trip will maximize fishing vs. rowing time.  If you don't have any friends who wish to join the society, non-member guests are allowed to fish with a member for a $30 fee.  A membership roster will also be included in your membership package and any members wishing to have their information on this roster can then easily be contacted by another member to coordinate a trip.  Any way you cut it, if your primary reason for going to the river is to fish this plan makes sense for you.  For the price of 2 1/2 canoe rentals you have the opportunity to fish the most effective method for fly fishermen and spin fishermen alike.  If you have ever fished from a drift boat you realize how many more fish you can catch just because you are fishing water that you would normally pass up in a canoe or kayak.  If you are serious about catching trout I hope you will give this club a try, you won't be disappointed.
